Currently considered as one of the rising stars on the global Techno scene, Steve Shaden has rapidly gained fame and respect thanks to the incredible musical successes he has achieved through the years.
Steve’s love and fascination for music began at the tender age of8, when he was first introduced to drums, the source of the central beat that would never leave his creative imagination. Around age 13 his passion for techno music began, first following the Italian techno-progressive scene and all of its pioneers in the '90s, and then following by the early Hardstyle of the early years of the 2000s. Beginning in 2005, Steve began to expand his horizons and focus solely on the European Techno movement, creating the music that would define him as the artist that he has become. By studying music production and engineering after secondary school, he turned his strong passion for techno music into a full-time musical gig.
Through the years, Steve's music has been released by many of the world's most important and promising techno labels on the market, including Phobiq (IT), Naked Lunch Records (PR), Respekt Recordings (UK), Pornographic Records (ES), Italo Business (IT), Elektrax Recordings (AU), Natura Viva (IT), De-Konstrukt (USA), Funk'n Deep Records (USA), Yin Yang Records (UK)... Becoming quickly known around the globe for the gloomy and dark sensations that envelop his unique style, created from a precise blending of powerful, rhythmic old-school beats with modern percussions and heavy basslines.
His meteoric rise is reflected on the Beatport charts: On the Top 100 Hard Techno Artists chart, he entered at #98 in 2014, reached #55 in 2015, and by the end of 2016, he climbed to #4. In addition, many of the tracks Steve has produced have been ranked on the Beatport charts: 3 tracks have reached #1, 15 tracks have reached into the top10, and more than 60 tracks, inside the top 100. His two most popular tracks – "Behind The Bars [De- konstrukt]” and “Criminal [Naked Lunch Records]” – were ranked #1 on Beatport's TOP100 Hardtechno for 3 months and 2 months, respectively.
Besides success on the music market, his productions have also been noted and supported by some of the best DJs in the Techno scene like: Chris Liebing, Carl Cox, Sam Paganini, Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna, Cristian Varela, SLAM, Sasha Carassi, Nicole Moudaber, to name a few. Some of his productions have also been playlisted on Chris Liebing's Radio Show (CLR podcast, CLR 296) and Marco Bailey’s Electronic Force Podcast (Episodes: #247 and #221), and they have been played on numerous stages, such as Nature One, Awakenings, Kappa Future Festival, and Rhur in Love, making his sound recognized in clubs around the world.
In addition to his talent and passion for producing music, Steve has also always had a strong passion for mixing, beginning when he was 15, doing DJ work in the clubs around the area he lives. Developing an impressive repertoire of DJ sets, he was soon working with radio stations in the Techno scene world-wide as well as performing in the clubs of Europe. Steve's own radio show, “District Techno,” is broadcast by 26 different radio stations from all over the world, and in a short time it has become one of the main radio shows for techno music lovers.
